a short film by Yu-San Moon

The idea for Dirty Dennis came when an unexpected package was dropped off at the door step of Yu-San Moon. Opening the package, Yu-San discovered a box full of assorted junk toys and other odds and ends ordered from a popular online auction service for a mere 99 cents (plus shipping).

One of the random items was a demonic- looking rubber puppet lacking any identifying marks, covered in pet hair and other lint-like materials. Dubbing him Dirty Dennis, Yu-San placed the old puppet on top of a shelf where he lay, collecting more dust and strengthening his monniker.

About a year later, Yu-San decided to test shoot a short, unscripted film using only a webcam. Coming to mind instantly, Dirty Dennis was retrieved, cleaned off a little and given both a voice and personality. Filmed in one afternoon and barely edited that very night, the crude three segments served as the original basis for DDDPP.

Original Test Shoot Part 1: Dirty Dennis speaks with Ruffles the Bear about "Teddy Bear Leprosy". Before the interview even begins, Ruffles the Bear drops dead on the set.	Original Test Shoot Part 2: Dirty Dennis speaks with Billy the Weed about drugs. At the onset of the interview, Billy the Weed reveals to the audience that he is actually a convicted sex criminal. Billy the Weed is quickly disposed of with a sword and dragged off stage.	Original Test Shoot Part 3: In Dirty Dennis' final interview, he speaks with former "Benji", Max the Dog, about eating disorders in Hollywood. Maxx becomes disoriented and slings profanities at everyone. Working himself up, Max collapses on the set and dies.

Will Dirty Dennis be back for a second film, despite the dramatic conclusion?

Will archive footage pop up showing a different side of Dirty Dennis?

Will the LDC take control of DDDPP?

Does anyone even really care?

 

The answer to all of the above is: probably not.
